Now that we are well into autumn your thoughts are no doubt turning to Christmas; no doubt some members will have already started preparations and others will be putting the matter on hold until much nearer the time!

As you know, owing to the ongoing Coronavirus situation all meetings for the remainder of 2020 have been cancelled but we are sure that whatever restrictions are put upon us you will be endeavouring to celebrate Christmas in the best possible way. With this in mind Kathryn Delve has kindly provided us with some Christmas inspiration – please see the four photos which have been posted which are a mixture of traditional and contemporary designs. Kathryn passes on her thanks to Pat Cooper for the assistance with photography for the first two arrangements (i.e. the berries with candle and Christmas fir cone design).

Why not share your Christmas arrangements with your flower arranging friends by sending a photograph to Helen Glanville (hmglanville@icloud.com) and she will share with others via our website and FaceBook page.  Let Helen know if you are happy for your name to be published or whether you wish it to remain anonymous.Whatever shape or format your Christmas takes this year we hope yours is a relaxed and happy one and that next year sees a return to healthier times and new found freedoms which will include some return to normality for our Flower Club.

Send us photos of your arrangements and we will post them here! Can’t wait to see how creative you have all been.

The Winter Flower Arranger magazine offers loads of inspiration for Christmas arrangements. Our President, Nora, has provided us with this photo of her lovely candle arrangement which she made with greenery from the garden and neighbourhood with a few items from the attic. Looking forward to receiving more photos.

Our Treasurer, Carol Tovell, has been really busy – she has shared photos of her lovely arrangements below:

Pauline Siddall, Committee Member, has made some stunning wreaths to welcome visitors to her home and also made some wreaths for friends …

and Helen Glanville made the following arrangements to bring some Christmas cheer to her home this year…

Jo Jeffrey has sent these photos of her festive arrangements…

Our Chairperson, Audrey King, has created a lovely topiary tree to create a welcome at her front door…

Please send us some more photos and we’ll share them with you and your friends at the Club.
